Symbiotic Design VideoCD Publishing
Symbiotic Design can publish VideoCD (often called VCD) media which can play in most any newer DVD player today. We will soon be offering DVD mastering and publishing, as well.
The reason to publish a training video to disc is simply that videotape degrades over time. DVD media handles recording video best, without much signal degredation from tape, and virtually no generational loss when recording from a digital source (such as the video on my hard drive).
VideoCD works in most DVDs and on all CD-ROM equipped computers, however this signal is compressed using the MPEG 1 standard. This means that although the production will be easily distrubed, the mastered copy should be archived for any possible broadcast quality video work opportunity in the future. But VideoCDs make great presentations that are easily and cheaply distrubed without the fuss of videotape.
Symbiotic Design can also provide SVideoCD (SVCD) publishing as well, which uses the Super VHS video resolution and MPEG2 compression. This not only provides a higher resolution but a better compression scheme which allows for a better picture, as well. However, SVideoCDs will not work in DVD players and require the user to have a computer to view the video production.
